"My approach to directing is similar to how I see people in general. It's important to understand that everyone has a story with chapters you know and ones you don't that both influence the person they are and how they interact with the world. It's my job as a director to help the actors put each of these facets together to create believable and enthralling characters. It's a partnership and a collaboration. I don't tell the actors who to be but instead, guide them to that discovery. I don't prescribe to my designers what "the look" is. I work in tandem with them to tell the truth of the world while their artistry shines."
"The comfort and safety of my performers and creative team come first and foremost. Through the use of clear and concise boundaries, open communication, an honest evaluation of power dynamics, and utilizing tools and expertise like with an Intimacy Director, it's very easy to achieve that type of space. Mindfulness is key."
